Can a rookie build a coaching business?
I think the biggest issue that prevents people from building successful businesses is not being sure. Lack of faith in themselves. That they can actually do it.
Sometimes I get emails in which my customers confide in me that they don’t have a product, a website, or anything to sell. So how can they find a way to make a living online?
Well, at least these customers of mine have identified the problem.
They have nothing to sell!
It’s a problem that can be fixed. Even if you have nothing to sell today, that doesn’t mean you won’t have something of your own tomorrow. Meanwhile, you can still make money by being an affiliate.
By promoting products online
Find people who have something to sell (like I do) and then build an affiliate relationship with them.
Promoting products is easier than you think. I’d go out and start promoting and recommending products in groups and forums and drop my affiliate link pointing to a review page or a bonus page.
You can set up a free page on Google Sites, Wordpress.com, or Medium.
Don’t make it spammy (your page should be clean), because the group owners don’t like that.
The next thing to do is find a way to build a list. You can never build your business on someone else’s land (group or forum). You need to find your own land.
For online businesses, that means having a website and at least one opt-in page.
You want to build a list online
Create a page where you give away something. The courses are fantastic. Especially if they are video courses. PDF e-books aren’t the fashion anymore, people want something more substantial.
Create a small video presentation. Even a single video will do if it’s at least 20 minutes long.
You can compile the material using other people’s content, rewrite it using ChatGPT (or AI Collective), record a video using a screen recording tool, and then put it on YouTube (embed it on your page).
If you don’t want to do even that, then find some creative commons videos or politely ask a new and emerging content creator.
Give them credit on the thank-you page (as a collaborator).
Build a course using other people’s content with permission.
There is really no excuse for being the guy who doesn’t have anything to sell or give away anymore except that you don’t want to.
To those customers who are in the predicament that I talked about.
Start an action and finish it. Perform a connected action.
Keep that going.
You don’t have to be where you are.
