Facebook Just Did Away With All The Musicians
Generative AI is the most transformative technology of this decade. AI is now in the realm where only humans were supposed to go – creativity.
It’s replacing jobs for some people and facilitating the jobs of other people.
If you are a content creator, you will love this. Meta just announced that their networks (Facebook, Instagram, etc) now will have the facility to generate music with AI.
So no more copyright strikes, music taken down, and no more worries about losing your business.
What you need to do is select the genre, give it a sample and the AI will generate the music for your videos and your reels. Custom music, just the way you wanted.
That means all of Facebook’s music library is now redundant. Why would you want to pay creators a share or lose a part of your revenue if you could just make the music on the fly?
Meta got here first but you can bet YouTube isn’t far behind. TikTok will get there too. Every social network is going to do that!
How Does That Affect You?
As a creator of content, it’s something that works for you because you don’t need to worry about Rights any longer, but for people who created that music, it’s bad news.
AI is going to do this over and over to different types of creators. Writers, musicians, graphics artists, designers, and Photographers. They will feel the pinch, but the overall creative economy will get a boost because it’ll be easier to create custom content.
Imagine thinking up an animation, creating the characters using AI, storyboarding with AI, and then creating the entire animation film with AI.
That is going to be a reality, now it’s not just your job but Disney’s on the line.
It’s going to be a brave and exciting new world.
How Can You Prepare For It?
Use AI. Start using it as much as you can and everywhere that you can. If you don’t want to lose it to AI, use it.
That’s what I am doing.
