Is AI going to write a book for you?
Have you been to Amazon Kindle lately? There’s a glut of new books on Amazon that have been written by AI. Thousands and thousands of books all generated by a non-human entity, in minutes.
But that’s only the beginning of this story.
Right now someone has to sit down and piece together a book using AI feeding in different topics and ideas. Then cobble it all together and create chapters, sections that look like a book.
It still takes human work, but it may not be so for long.
OpenAI has already announced that it is coming with an improvement on GPT-4, the model that they use in ChatGPT, which will generate over 30,000 tokens. That’s enough for a small novella.
But innovation comes from many ends, and there’s another company called Anthropic which has a model called Claude-LLM, which says they will bring out a model that has 100K tokens.
Think of Tokens like words.
So with 100K words, what can you write?
You can write an entire novel. A complete guide. A full book. Anything you want, from beginning to end.
Wow! That’s going to fill our lives with more AI-generated trash.
I am hopeful and worried about the future in equal measure. Where is the place for original content and new ideas in all of this?
AI is the great gurgitator. It digests everything you feed it and feeds it out after re-ordering it.
It may not have many new ideas, at least not so far.
You can create thousands of books in a matter of hours, but it’s unlikely those books will be a breakthrough.
So, as a marketer, what do you do about it?
The first thing, use AI. Don’t be the one left out. Use AI where it can be applied practically and suitably.

So does that mean writing a few ebooks of your own using AI to use as lead magnets? The answer is yes.
AI already does a fairly decent job. As good as a cheap writer that you can get off Freelancer or Fiverr. That’s what everyone was doing earlier.
The fact is, even if you do hire a ‘human being’ off Fiverr to write your next book, they will probably use ChatGPT to do it anyway.
So save money and use your virtual assistants or your own time.
