Something of great significance happened last week. Google released an official update and then announced that they will no longer use

- Mobile-friendliness

- Secure Site (SSL)

- Page experience

As a ranking signal. That’s right, they are saying that all these things will not affect site rankings anymore.

That is rather disruptive.

It means there’s nearly no more on-page SEO left. It all boils down to content now. What are you saying, that is what is going to decide your on-page score now, nothing else.

SEO and online marketing are changing rapidly. The machines are more intelligent than ever and that means it’s going to be harder and harder for bad players.

Forget about PBNs, link farms, and backlink buying. They are not going to be a way to rank anymore. The content is going to matter more than ever.

So what’s the new path to rankings?

- Human content (don’t write articles solely with AI tools)

- Connections & Engagement (Get people to engage)

- Focus on quality, not quantity

You know what’s coming, right? There is a pile of poorly informed men and women who are going to fill the Internet with AI-generated content. If it was less of a cesspool before, it’s going to be a bigger one now, because the entry barriers and cost is lowered yet again.

But you’ve seen it too. Every winner is authentic.

There are no fake content creators that won the big prizes. Only authentic ones did.

So don’t go down that path, no matter what those ‘gurus’ who do ‘$1244.50 in 1 day using 30 clicks’ tell you. That’s worthless.

Success takes grit and innovation.

The answer is, No! You still need to do all that. Make sure your site is secure, keep it mobile-friendly, and make the page experience good.
