Just a few months ago I thought Sam Altman was a visionary. A guy who wanted to transform the world with technology and make that his legacy. That’s why OpenAI was a non-profit. Right? I was so wrong.
His new push really shocked me.

You could eventually have a system that verifies identity information online without government intervention or sanction.
Nobody really knows where the data is stored, in what ways it’s processed, who it is sold or leased to, and what uses it is put to.
This is a very mysterious and toxic setup. I would never sign up and neither should anyone else.
The only thing I can’t understand is. What did Sam Altman want to achieve? Is there more to his story than OpenAI and creating an AI system that helps the world?
Imagine having an AI system that has access to all the world’s human beings' personal identities. I am not happy thinking about it at all.
