Okay, so TikTok made it to my blog post 2 days in a row. They did something yesterday which revolutionizes the business model of Social sites, as well as Ecom.
TikTok will now provide fulfillment services to sellers.
Just like Fulfilled by Amazon, there’s now a TikTok Fulfillment service that allows you to place products with TikTok that customers can order directly from a video. TikTok will accept payment and ship the item.
You get a payout from the Ecom platform just like you do from Amazon.
Just ship your item to TikTok warehouse and then all you do is sell. Everything else is managed by TikTok.
Why Is This Such A Big Deal?
Influencers - You will now get access to a bigger market with a lower amount of logistical hassle.
Ecom - Sellers, now you can truly leverage sales on TikTok. Run ads, and sell products. Let TikTok handle the shipment.
TikTok - You are now an Ecom company that makes money on every order sold. Yep, TikTok will take a cut of the revenue. That’s scaling much beyond the ad profits.
I am sure Instagram and Twitter are watching like Hawks. “What the heck! I should have done this instead of Meta-absurd,” I can hear Zuck thinking.
In case you missed what I am saying. There’s more money in taking a cut out of profits than ads. It adds a solid, new revenue stream.
I think this is a win-win proposition for the entire sales chain. Don’t see any losers here.
