This tech is going to be better than ChatGPT

If you’ve been playing around with ChatGPT and other AI tools you must have seen a lot of creative prompting. Some of the prompts go very long, paragraphs long.

That’s not how we see our AI future, do we? Spending our time figuring out what combination of words to write to our AI agents to get our work done.

Well, it’s likely we won’t have to.

AI models have a peculiar problem

They have trained neural pathways and when you give them a question a certain combination of neurons light up and they give you a conclusion.

That’s how the human brain works too, but not quite. We do a lot of back-tracking, re-evaluation of facts, re-thinking, questioning, making different assumptions, and testing and we often change our opinions.

AI models don’t do that.

They give you a conclusion but they don’t go through a chain of thoughts about it. They don’t evaluate their own responses.

At least they didn’t do so far.

AutoGPT was a technology that used prompt feedback to get better work done. This was done by feeding more prompts to the AI model based on the answer. It’s like having two brains. One comes up with the answers, another with the questions.

This approach works, but it has a time problem. Everything takes longer and sometimes AutoGPT can just be stuck in a loop. 

Well, it’s AI and you know how fast it is improving. We are just 4 iterations away from a new breakthrough.

There was a new paper just days ago called ‘Tree of Thoughts’ which has a new approach.

Future AI models are going to ‘consider’ their response. Evaluate it using further search and then give you the answer.

That means less ‘prompt engineering’ and more results.

I said this a month ago. Prompt Engineering is not going to be long-lived. If AI can come up with the answers, AI can come up with the questions too.

It’s just a matter of time.
