Some years ago when Meta introduced WhatsApp Business it was all about being accessible to your customers.

- Have prepared messages
- Auto reply
That’s all that was there, but now things are radically different. WhatsApp is not really a chat app anymore. It’s much more than that.
Couriers are using it to pinpoint where you are so that the delivery guy can get to you.
Apps that use WhatsApp API are doing all sorts of things, from being an answering bot to telling children interactive stories, but more than anything else it’s e-commerce.
WhatsApp introduced payments sometime ago. In the USA it’s available using a special wallet owned by Meta, but in many other countries it’s very open, using the local payments infrastructure to tie into the mainstream payments systems.
People can pay someone in a chat now. You can view a catalog, buy a product, pay for it, get the delivery information and then talk to the delivery guy… All in the same place.
WhatsApp is making this more powerful every day
Last week they launched a new feature called “WhatsApp Flow”. This is right now in a limited beta, but using it businesses can build interactive forms inside of Whatsapp.

Basically, forms are coming to WhatsApp and this will open the door to the first generation of apps that are built inside of WhatsApp.
That’s going to hugely impact shopping.
More and more people are going to shop right inside of WhatsApp. Not leaving it even to log in and provide information that requires high levels of interactivity.
There are already cool implementations, like an airline company offering ticket booking from within WhatsApp, complete with seat and meal selection.
