Why nobody’s paying attention to Grok, and the business lesson we can learn
Why nobody’s paying attention to Grok, and the business lesson we can learn
Even the best entrepreneurs are sometimes blindsided by their egos.
It was the NeXT computer for Steve Jobs, Metaverse for Zuckerberg and for Elon Musk it’s AI.
It’s riling him to the core that he could have been leading this revolution too and he missed it just by a hair’s breadth. One wrongly placed move and he was out of OpenAI.
Not everyone can win at every game, and it seems Elon Musk can’t win at AI. Grok AI is now open source, most likely because it’s already a couple generations behind and no one cares about it.
Today they made it available to every Premium user, not just those who have Premium+, but no one in Europe can access it still.
Elon Musk also invited developers to create products with Grok AI, but they have to be whitelisted and it seems only those who get invited ever make it.
Basically, Grok pretends to be everywhere, but it’s nowhere.

No one has access. We’ve all seen posts but we don’t know what it can do.
It reminds me heavily of Elizabeth Holmes, the woman who scammed everyone with a better disease testing system. There never really was a product backing it up.
I am questioning now… is there a product called Grok? Something that works?
Looks like the wait will be long.
Meanwhile, the companies who are really doing it go on. Mixtral launched a GPT beater last month, Claude launched a GPT-4 beater.
In the words of Anthropic, Claude 3 gives its users ‘near human like’ understanding. It’s a lot to take in.
Near human like understanding and we are only 2 years into the AI iteration. It won’t be long when AI is smarter than a single human being.
What will we use it for then?
Meanwhile, here’s the business lesson to learn from Musk’s failure.
- Don’t let your desires get in the way of your success.
He’s got a solid game going. Loads of success. The world’s most successful car company, the world’s most successful rocket company.
He doesn’t need to invent AI too.
That happens to a lot of us. We set up aims and desires and we focus on them so blindly that we fail to see the real opportunities. Real actionable things that you can do every day to make money and progress.
Running in a race you joined too late to win.
Have you ever done that in your own business?
I am going to be honest here and confess, I have. Actually, I still am. There are certain niches that I have products in where I am not the market leader and it’s a really long shot that I can be one, but I have been investing regularly.
Will it happen? Can’t say.
Meanwhile… One thing for certain. I do craft the best solutions whichever niche I am in, and I have big news.
I just added 6 new models to AI Collective.
Now we have 50+ AI models in one place.
So if you are still paying $20 for GPT, $20 for Claude, $20 for Cohere, $20 for Gemini.
Do yourself a favor, and use all of them at AI Collective.
Let me now what you think.
Cheers!
