Will Bingchat hurt online entrepreneurs?
BingChat just got opened to everyone, and it’s the biggest revolution that we’ve seen since ChatGPT and in my opinion; even more impactful.
It’s on the same engine as ChatGPT, so in the background, it is that amazing language model running to process your queries, but one with one solid difference.
It can crawl the net!
It’s ChatGPT that can crawl the net and get you live results.
Imagine how powerful something like that is. I’ve been using it since this morning and I am blown away by the results.
I ran the same query on Google, on ChatGPT, and on BingChat and the best answers I got were from BingChat.
I am sure everyone will be using this a lot more in the coming days but looking deeply at that I also thought of a problem that we’ll have to face.
This affects us. It affects every single small entrepreneur out there trying to create an online business.
With an excellent answer to a customer’s query right on the search engine the traffic that goes to the websites themselves will fall.
All this time the Search Engine was just an intermediary. Get the customer’s query and lead him instantly to the website that has the best answer for them. The best search engines were those that would get out of the way the fastest.
Not this product. This is a different animal. It’s designed to be used on the website and only a small percentage of searchers will now go to the websites.
Sure BingChat shows the search-referenced websites in the footnote (so small you can miss them if you wink), but I don’t expect many people to click on these.
So if you’ve been creating content and using it to get leads or sales, then you are at the wrong end of the bargain here.
BingChat crawled you, got your content, and then showed it to your audience right on BingChat.
You got nothing.
How is that going to work for content creators? It just made most blogging unviable.
All those people who wrote ‘how to’ articles or content will now have their content presented on BingChat without getting any revenue.

It can cause a mess in so many ways, and yes we’ll have to deal with it.
I am sure in the coming few days content creators and search engines will have to work out a new relationship. The mutually beneficial relationship died.
