X’s new AI is about to hit. Are you ready?
If you thought OpenAI had the last word in everything AI, get prepared to witness the toughest competitor they’ve ever had. Yes, not even Google is their primary challenger.
It’s someone who was a part of OpenAI and an initial backer.
I am talking about Elon Musk. This man seems to have a talent for getting cutting-edge things right and a penchant for pushing the limits of technology. He wants to do it with AI.
He backed OpenAI initially with $100 million in funds but didn’t like the fact that he wasn’t getting control. So he stepped out later and was replaced by Microsoft there.
He announced a public resolution to make a better AI than OpenAI.
Well, it seems he’s about to unleash it
It’s called xAI and it’s still in beta. It was made available to a select few associates, but Musk is claiming that it beats ChatGPT on a number of essential parameters.
He says it’s better than ChatGPT.
Musk says he’ll bring it to the real world soon. First to the X Premium subscribers and then later to the rest of the people.
Well, I am a premium user. I can’t wait to lay my hands on it.
Musk has a talent for picking up a really good technical team and then getting them to deliver, so I think the AI is going to be something worth talking about.
Based on what I’ve seen, I think it’s still a couple of months away from public availability.
But we’ll be watching, and so will OpenAI.
